A warrior wore his armour
On his chest; but these days
The ordinary man needs armour
Not on his frontal chest
but on his own blessed back.
Though I say this in jest
This is just the truth that we lack
For it is we who have to protect ourselves
From the knife or bullet that pierces our back
From those who try to promote themselves
And that is a skill we must never lack
Therefore my friends, do protect your back
From those who try to destroy you and hack
At your broad and bounteous back
And do not cut or allow them any slack
