KNOW IT ALLS

The world is full of those whom I call “know it alls”

Who think they know the answers to all of life’s mysteries

Such are those whose pride goeth before their respective falls

As long as they nourish their unconquered vanities

 

Those who think they know everything

Are those who truly know nothing

For the first rule of wisdom through learning

Is to be humble and accept that we know nothing

 

The moment we realize that we know nothing

Then we begin to learn something

And as long as we believe we know nothing

We can gradually learn everything

 

So let us accept with all humility

That we truly are zeroes with nothing in them

And thus when we shed our vanity

We shall obtain wisdom’s precious gem
