BRILLIANCE

Brilliant ideas shining like gems

Clutter my head in a dazzle so bright

But when I put them on paper it seems

They turn to dirt without a trace of light

So, I guess it is better that these gems

Remain as mere thoughts and dreams

For then they appear beautiful and soothing

Though unseen they shed light so calming.

Should such ideas be put on paper?

Merely to make me seem bright

And make a rich man out of a pauper;

Or should they remain ethereal light

And shine on in my mind forever

Never to see the light of day, never
