BEAUTY WITHIN AND THE BEAST WITHOUT

She was not all that good looking
You could even call her ugly
At least that’s what the husband kept thinking
While the wife continued to serve him truly

Very ugly outside; but quite pretty inside
She was happy to remain with him beside
Very loving outside and very loving inside
For him her arms were forever outstretched wide

He could not stomach nor tolerate her
And his eyes they kept on roving
While she her heart to him did offer
But his heart remained unmoving

Very ugly outside; but quite pretty inside
She was happy to remain with him beside
Very loving outside and very loving inside
For him her arms were forever outstretched wide

The hubby grew fat and chubby
While his heart did remain dirty
But still the wife remained with him happy
As he did continue to wine, dine and party

Very ugly outside; but quite pretty inside
She was happy to remain with him beside
Very loving outside and very loving inside
For him her arms were forever outstretched wide

The hubby did soon wither and age
Soon was he robbed of his vigour and vitality
His friends and darling mistresses at this stage
Quickly removed themselves from his proximity

Very ugly outside; but quite pretty inside
She was happy to remain with him beside
Very loving outside and very loving inside
For him her arms were forever outstretched wide

The depraved hubby did rant and rave
As they left him after fleecing all his wealth
But nothing could reverse his poor ole’ age
And finally there remained nothing but death

Very ugly outside; but quite pretty inside
She was happy to remain with him beside
Very loving outside and very loving inside
For him her arms were forever outstretched wide

The Man then looked at his wife very differently
As she continued to support and love him
His wife’s internal beauty now stunned him completely
As the truth began to then sink within him

Very ugly outside; but quite pretty inside
She was happy to remain with him beside
Very loving outside and very loving inside
For him her arms were forever outstretched wide
