THE DESTRUCTION LEADING TO RESURRECTION

May my Master be resurrected
In my heart deep within
And may all his foes be vanquished
Both without and within;
As wax does melt before fire
Flowing like molten lava
Let my Master melt away my desire
From my heart’s volcano with his power;
As the wind does swirl and disperse
The dark and dirty toxic smoke
So too let this my simple verse
Drive away all evil and the work
of those with thoughts of  hatred
in their dark jealous hearts
who dwell in thoughts so wicked;
so that the just, the honest,
the pure and the righteous
may in peace do rest and nest
and with my Master so glorious
rejoice in Heaven with the best

A poem inspired by a prayer of the Greek Orthodox Church
