THE “F” WORD

One of the few languages that has a mystique for me
Is the English language though strange it may be
For the evolution of several English words
Has later, led to a lot of lovely verse.
But what had fascinated me all the more
Was the word used to denote the expression of amour
The use of the “F” word had so fascinated me
and I have always wondered why that should be?
why such a stilted and meaningless word was used
to describe such a sacred act, where bodies fused?
There are many versions of the origin of this word
but they all mean the same to the people of the world.
When I read the full form of this word so fine,
the most popular swear word of all time,
I was rather disappointed and cold
for I had expected something more bold,
more extravagant, jazzy and more colourful, maybe
than “Fornication and Unlawful Carnal Knowledge”, so drab
So drab and furtive the word did it seem to sound like crap
Indeed its abbreviation sounds better and promises pledge
than the knowledge of the full form of such knowledge
So let’s just say “Fxxx it” and let it be
