ON ENGLISH

English is a crazy language, indeed
Full of quirks so queer and strange
That is what gives it, it’s range to so read
I pray, please don’t take any umbrage

For where else will you find
A bandage “wound around the wound”
It may not appear so kind
But by its rules we are bound.

A garbage collector I did find as a subject
Who had to refuse more refuse
I could not then object to his object
For his truck was really full of refuse

A farmer who did produce produce
Was also a hunter or so he gushes
He shot a dove that dove from his abuse
And hid amongst the bushy bushes

I then came across an adventurer
Who decided to desert his dessert
For he certainly knew his grammar
Though he lived in the desert

I met a lovelorn and besotted youth
Who wished to gift his girl a lovely  present
Though in the present he appeared uncouth
he believed in the present to present the present

I met a handicapped person
Who was hit in an accident so bad
It was for me an eyeopener and a lesson
Since insurance was invalid for an invalid

There are many more such sentences
To prove that English is not so easy
I request that you bear with my utterances
For English is truly crazy
