THE ENCROACHERS AND THE ENCROACHED

The elephants are growing mad

For we have taken away their land

It is indeed rather pitiful and sad

But we take a really stupid stand

And say the elephants are growing mad

While all we must do is give back their land

So that they do not foray in our midst for food

and enter into human habitation not so good

For we have taken away their land

And then claim they are behaving mad

While the truth is that it is their land

Which we have stolen and plundered

And it is we who are greedy and mad

While we now act offended

And claim they plunder

The hypocrisy makes me wonder

For man is a cruel animal

Worse than a dirty cannibal

So let’s give them back their land

Let them in their forests stand
