MUSINGS ON INTERNATIONAL WOMEN’S DAY 2014 CONTINUES

MUSINGS - 2

The only time women are united; I mean truly united
Is when they discuss their obsession; nay, pet peeve,
The subject of men with whom they have procreated.
Men whom they perceive as having jilted them and did leave.
So, for the sake of woman’s unity and sisterhood
Let us men suffer in silence though castrated of our manhood
For after all we men too have to share the blame
Howsoever, it may be to us men, it appears rather lame
We who ogle, stare or rather worship the very soul of a woman.
With penetrating eyes that strip bare the very clothes of a woman.
So let us Men on this International women’s Day
Vow to treat our women fairly, I pray
For it is not the Women who need liberation
But we lustful men who need to attain salvation
Men’s liberation is the true need of the hour
But I know all male readers here will at my words turn sour

It is only in India that women are worshiped reverentially as the holy Mother a.k.a Shakti. However the male devotees of India are truly a misunderstood lot for their act of worshiping Shakti is very different from elsewhere in the world.

The male devotees of India indeed worship the women with their eyes, their groping hands and their rubbing bodies to such an extent that the women feel the need to wash themselves with some vitriolic acid after coming back home.

Have you heard of an ancient Indian saying, “To act like a villager looking at a city sweetmeat shop”? This is exactly how a blue blooded or rather hot-blooded Indian Men especially those who live in cities look at all the women on the streets during their daily excursions into public places. The only difference is that the sweet is truly of a meaty kind.

While this is the case of the average devotee special mention must be made of the few truly fanatic devotees who believe that the only way to worship Shakti is to provide human sacrifice to the goddess and therefore indulge in raiding and raping the chastity of the women as an offering.

Of course there will always be exceptions to the rule and there are a few men who still believe in treating women as the jewels they are; just as much as there will be exceptions among the women who go out of their way to provoke the devotees to worship them differently.

On the occasion of this year’s International Women's Day celebrations let all of us men of India not stop with merely worshiping the Mother Goddess in the temples but also truly worship women in our day to day lives and give them the respect and status which they rightfully deserve.

The purpose of this post was not to hurt any one or tarnish the glory and splendour of this ancient country but to enable us to introspect and bring about a change amongst our fellow citizens and ourselves to ensure that Delhi remains the esteemed capital of our glorious country and not the rape capital of our country.

I would consider the day when a woman can walk freely without fear at the stroke of midnight on the streets of any village, town or city in India as the day when we have truly won our freedom for only when the mind is liberated can true freedom, culture and civilization flourish.

Happy International Women’s Day!
