MUSINGS - 1
I would like to
confess that I’m not a macho guy
But have a few
observations about the women of today
And I request all
women to view my comments here
In the right spirit
than act like lice has entered their hair
I have been working
for over thirty five years now
In various jobs
though I have worked only for love.
I have worked with
women in both rural and urban setting
And witnessed a lot
of womanly bickering and blood letting
This has led me to
conclude that women were their own enemies
Even women
particularly the in-laws within their own sweet families
and that they could
not live in harmony together with each other
let alone with men
who to them are a necessary evil though a bother
Women in urban
workplaces are worse than their rural counterparts
And each one tries
one-up(wo)manship and ultimately the other outsmarts
For Women are uneasy
when working with their own fellow women so dear
and most of them were
completely and irrationally jealous of each other
and indulged in
bitchy and catty behaviour to outsmart each other.
Back biting and back
stabbing were the order of the day; nay, every day
While the men tended
to be less petty and more broadminded along the way
The remarks the women
made about each other throughout the day so long
the smile which
didn’t reach the eyes while dirty looks they exchanged so strong
the vengeful feelings
in their hearts and the resultant behaviour so wrong
made me realize that
women are their own enemies from the beginning all along
May I therefore take
this opportunity on this International Women’s Day
Which is celebrated
with splendor and pomp on this glorious, magnificent day
to send out an appeal
to all women of the world to stand together united
and not bicker
amongst themselves for in unity there is strength unlimited
and in divisive
behaviour they become vulnerable, weak and exposed
to exploitation by
the men of the world who demean them unopposed.
I therefore wish you
happy International Women’s Day, my dears
You are the best, the
sensitive spirit who will triumph, no fears
Today is celebrated
as International Women’s Day, which for me is nothing but a celebration of the
spirit of womanhood and her Shakti (Power / Energy) and the various forms or
roles that a woman undertakes. On this day I realised that there could be
nothing better than to write a series of poems on the Women of today. This poem
is based on an old blog of mine. Do read if you want to understand more about
my views here:
