TOWARDS EXTINCTION

When Mankind nears extinction
then animals will have the satisfaction
of locking up the remaining few men
and displaying them in cages then
so that other animals may come
to visit humans who are awesome
and have a look at their faces
pressed between the bars of the cages.
They'll wonder when and how
we lost our tail and fur
and allowed our minds to destroy us
So that we became thus
They’ll consider us fools in caged cells
for having destroyed ourselves
while they happily as one animal kingdom
live on to enter God’s kingdom

UNCUT HAIR

There are 

many nosey parkers

who look at me 

as if I’m bonkers

For I’ve grown 

my hair rather long`

and they wonder 

what is wrong

To them I explain 

and do mockingly say

tongue in cheek 

for I like to have my way

“I wanted to try and help 

my poor wife financially

and decided not to get 

my hair cut, bi-monthly.

It’s now almost a year 

since I cut my hair; so sad

and my precious locks 

I now maintain with care

I’m so very glad 

I’ve become so thrifty      

for I’ve saved my wife 

rupees seven hundred and fifty”
