ON LIFE

If only life
Could be easy as a game
I would be the winner,
And stand tall.

If only life
Could never bring shame
I would be no sinner
And never have a fall.

Even if life
Is only a game
I would only be a loser
And fall.

Even if life
Brings only shame
I would still be a winner
When I answer God’s call.

HUMAN BUFFALOES

There are a lot of human buffaloes on the roads
For whom honking away doesn't matter
Amongst and between the vehicles these buffalo hordes;
Travel without any fear or fervour.
The fun begins when these buffaloes sit at the controls
Of the automated vehicles that populate the roads
As they ride roughshod over men and potholes
Whom they squash under them like slippery toads
No rules or signals do they understand or care for
Neither right nor wrong do they believe in
All is fair for them on the road; as it is in love and war
To them observing road rules is a big sin.
For indeed they are human buffaloes

and it is their behaviour that everybody follows...

WHAT IS LAW

What is law?
What are rules?
Isn’t there a flaw
When honest men are fools

Is there law?
Is there order?
Isn’t chaos the last straw?
When law fails into disorder

Money is the law
A law unto itself
Money has become the witches claw
Bought by power and pelf.

ON INDEPENDENCE DAY 2013

Don’t wear your flag
Only on your shirt sleeve
But proudly wear it in your heart.
On this Independence Day
let us all sit for a moment
and ponder if we today

are really and truly Independent

RIGHT IS ONLY LEFT

What is right?

Right has already left

and all that's left is might

(A tribute to left-handers on the occasion of World Left Handers Day)
